Luxottica Leaders Honored as Most Influential Women in Optical
Three Luxotticans have been recognized by Vision Monday as the Most Influential Women in Optical for their impact on the industry.
Influence describes the power to create change in someone or something and our winners demonstrate this quality in their daily work.
Deb Bulken, Wholesale Regional Sales Director, was selected in the Mentors category for her devotion, coaching skills, and vast knowledge of the optical customer base across the country. She has built excellent relationships with others and is well respected in the industry.
Sarah McGee, Communication Director of Pearle Vision, is also recognized in the Rising Stars category. Her passion and professional drive along with her strategic vision and brand engagement have earned respect and leadership from the brand and its Leadership Team.
Amy Larson, VP, Marketing & Ecommerce, Glasses.com, motivates and builds collaborative teams and is a visionary for self-expression. Honored in the Innovators category, her passion for generating a creative culture and her passion for creating the best customer experience displays her desire to drive innovation at all levels.
When asked what advice they would offer other women in the optical industry, they replied:
Amy said, “Be bold and true to who you are. You were hired with your unique talents, personality, etc. if you change who you are to adhere to some preconceived idea of what you think you are supposed to be, you are cheating the organization of your true value – and more importantly, you are cheating yourself. Everyone prefers to work with someone authentic. So be you.”
“Seize every opportunity to learn, contribute and make a difference,” said Sarah. “Set ambitious goals and hold yourself accountable. As you have success pay it forward – celebrate those who have helped you along your path and seek opportunities to share your knowledge with others.”
Debra added: “Embrace mentors in every aspect of your life in an effort to transform in to the best version of you! Take time to nurture your customers, your colleagues, your friends & family, and most of all yourself.”
